About Oxcart.net

Welcome to my little piece of the internet. Oxcart started way back in 2002, when I was a freshman at the University of Wyoming. Back then, it wasn't much of a photo blog, and in fact I hadn't even seriously picked up a camera yet. Sometime between my freshman and sophomore year my Ant[sic] Jan gave me her Nikkromat FT2. Almost instantly I fell in love with taking pictures, and I haven't stopped since. I still have the FT2, and it even has film in it, but I must confess that I don't pull it out too much these days.

In 2008 I spent the majority of my time outside the United States. I experienced different cultures and places. I had a chance to enjoy doing my job - when it counts. I think I'm lucky; many people don't have a job they love. Being away from my loved ones is a small price to pay, and it's only temporary.

Speaking of loved ones, I have lots. I won the lottery when it comes to family. Beyond just giving me love, they've always supported me in everything I have done. My immediate family now includes Jayme and Lucy. Jayme and I have known each other since 2001, but really fell in love when we went for a little jaunt around Europe in 2005. She'll be my traveling partner for life. Lucy is our cocker-spaniel. She was born on August 8, 2008 and is the cutest dog on earth. If you want to have a cute-off, she will win; she’s done it before.

Back on subject, this place is nothing more than my little picture frame. I don't shoot for money (not that I wouldn't...I'm just not that good) so I need somewhere to hang my favorite shots. If you enjoy what you see, great! The ultimate honor would be for one of my pictures to end up as someone's desktop background, so if do that please let me know! It would make me very happy. Other than that, if you want to use any of my pictures - in any way - just let me know. I'll probably be fine with it...unless you're going to make money from it, then I'll just ask for a cut. :-) It goes without saying then that my photos are copyrighted by me, Tyler M. Sandberg and I retain all rights to them. Phew.
